Serious Tunnels

Yesterday we drove to Zion National Park in Utah.

The highway that leads through the park took us through two tunnels.

This picture is of the short tunnel, chiseled through a huge rock formation.

The second tunnel is 1.1 mile long and was completed in the 1930's.

Because of it's height restrictions, campers, trailers and RV's require a special permit and then traffic is stopped in one direction so that they can pass through along the middle.

We only drove our car through and I was glad that we weren't in the motorhome!
